Make-Up Policy For Semester-Based Kids Classes

MAKE UP POLICIES:

1. A maximum of two makeups are permitted per semester.
2. Makeups are not permitted during the last week of class for course runs. Please do not wait until the last minute and attempt to schedule a make up in week #10.
3. Makeups must be taken within the semester in which they are missed and do not carry over, nor do they qualify for refunds or credits.
4. Only one makeup per week is permitted. You may not schedule two makeups in one week.
5. Make ups are non-transferable and are only valid for the student who was absent.

Los Angeles Ninja Academy’s Customer Portal allows you to enter absences and schedule your own makeup classes. Here are the steps for how to enter your own absences and schedule makeups:

1. Log in to your Customer Portal. If you need a password reset, let us know.
2. After your absence is noted in our system, then you are able to schedule your makeup by clicking “Schedule Make Up.”
3. Click on “View Schedule Impacts” to see your recorded absences, and click “Schedule Make Up.” Choose a makeup class for your age group that fits your schedule. If nothing is visible, it means classes are already full. Please choose a different week.
4. Schedule your make ups as soon as possible so you don’t forfeit them. The week before the last class is your final opportunity, and that week tends to fill up. Please do not wait until the last minute and attempt to schedule a make up in week #10.

Here is a quick one-minute video on how to submit an absence and schedule your own make-up class.

FAQs

Kids Classes
Q: Are sneakers with Velcro acceptable?
A: Yes and no. Velcro is not as tight as laces are, and sneakers that are not tightly fitted fall off on the Warped Wall and on the angled steps. Velcro is acceptable, but laces are much preferred.

Q: Can my child’s friend join for one class during the semester?
A: No, our class is a progression-based curriculum where difficulty level increases with time. It is not safe for an inexperienced kid to join mid-session. However, drop-in classes are a great way to introduce ninja to a kid who may be interested.

Q: What if we miss a class?
A: You are entitled to two make up classes per semester. You can schedule absences and arrange make up classes using your Customer Portal.

Q: My child is almost 6, can they join anyway?
A: If your child is turning 6 within the first few weeks of the beginning of a 10-week session, then yes. For one-off classes or parties, our age limit is strictly 6, with the exception of mini ninjas.

Q: Can my child take a trial class to see if they like it?
A: We don’t offer trials in the 10-week session, but you can join a drop in class, register here.

Q: My kid is very athletic, can they be in an older age group?
A: Kids are grouped according age for many reasons, including social. If our coaching staff observes that your kid’s abilities are well beyond their current age group, we will ensure they are challenged and/or discuss moving them to an advanced level.

Q: Can my siblings take class at the same time?
A: We group children according to age. If your siblings are the same, or close to the same age, yes. If not, they will need to be in their appropriate age groups.

Birthdays
Q: Can we serve cake or food at our birthday party?
A: No, food is not allowed to be served. This is not a COVID-related rule, so it won’t change. We provide a table for you to put out gift bags, and to-go cupcakes are a great solution. We can also recommend nearby restaurants for your after-party.

Q: May a younger sibling participate in the party?
A: Only if the sibling is age 6+.

Adults
Q: Is there open gym?
A:  Adult open gym (13+) is for experienced ninja athletes or you must have taken at least one Adult Class at the LA Ninja Academy to enroll. Also, the Adult Classes can be “open” for elite or experienced athletes. Check the calendar on the adult class page.

Q: Is the adult class really for all levels?
A: Yes! Ninja warrior is an individual sport, so everyone performs obstacles at their own skill level.
